Even though the Los Angeles Lakers completed the signing of the offseason by acquiring star forward LeBron James, the fan base hasn't been as receptive as the organization would like to the new face of the franchise.

LeBron was welcomed to the city of angels with much fanfare and immediately had murals painted in his honor and in anticipation of the greatness he will bring to the franchise.

However, these murals were defaced with shots aimed at James, saying “No King”, and “3-6”, citing the stars less than ideal Finals record. Less creative vandals simply threw white paint over James' image.

Some people have claimed that this hate comes from Kobe Bryant fans who can't bear to see their beloved icon overshadowed by a new perennial all-star who is expected to bring championships to the team.

Lakers owner Jeanie Buss gave her opinion on Bryant fans who are not welcoming James to the team, firmly putting them in their place.

Buss is on the money with her assessment. Any casual NBA viewer knows that adding LeBron James to your team instantaneously improves it.

The Lakers didn't even make the playoffs last year, and James' signing has bumped them so far up that commentators are placing them as high as a potential third seed in a loaded Western Conference.

Bryant fans are known for the passion and stubbornness in support of the retired icon. There is no denying he is an all-time great and what he did for the franchise will never be forgotten. However, true supporters of the Lakers will embrace James with open arms and hope he can have the same success Bryant did with the franchise.
