With the help of renowned shooting coach Chris Matthews, aka “Lethal Shooter,” Los Angeles Lakers small forward Kyle Kuzma is tweaking his jump shot this summer.

Kuzma is changing eight major key components to his jumper:

The Lakers are expecting big things from Kyle Kuzma in 2019-20. He was the lone youngster to survive the Anthony Davis trade with the New Orleans Pelicans. This past season, Kuzma averaged 18.7 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.5 assists while shooting 45.6 percent from the field, 30.3 percent from beyond the arc and 75.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Kuzma is expected to start alongside LeBron James, Danny Green, Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins. There's a strong chance the talented swingman will be the Lakers' third option on offense behind James and Davis. At AD's introductory press conference on Saturday, Lakers head coach Frank Vogel said he’s “really going to push” Kuzma to live up to his potential defensively in 2019-20 and sees the small forward playing a major role.

There's a reason Los Angeles didn't make Kuzma available in trade talks with the Pelicans. The 23-year-old has proven in his first two years in the NBA he can score the ball at a high level. Now, the Lakers are looking for Kuzma to be a more efficient scorer. His new jump shot should help with that.
