The rumors are unavoidable when it comes to current Cleveland Cavaliers superstar forward LeBron James potentially signing with the Los Angeles Lakers this summer. Will he actually leave the Cavs a second time to go to the Lakers to make them an immediate contender in the West? In all honesty, who knows at this point, but we still love to talk about it.

One Lakers player who appears to hear all the noise and sees all of the articles online is high-flying forward Larry Nance Jr., who is now in his third year with Los Angeles. When he joined The HoopsHype Podcast on Friday with host Alex Kennedy, Nance Jr. was asked if he gets excited when he hears rumors about players like James, Oklahoma City Thunder forward Paul George, or New Orleans Pelicans center DeMarcus Cousins potentially joining the Lakers next season.

“Um, hmm. So-so,” Nance Jr. said. “I mean, like I said, there are rumors that LeBron is going to go [everywhere]. There are rumors about everything. Obviously, everybody knows about the Paul George stuff and that whole saga. Now there’s [talk like], ‘LeBron may come to L.A. and he just bought a house there]!’ And yeah, we read all of that. We read all of the clickbait stuff. But in reality, we’re just focused on what’s in front of us.”

However, Nance. Jr. is obviously much more focused on the present with the current young Lakers core under head coach Luke Walton.

“We’re just trying to be the best team we can be and if someone like LeBron James or Paul George or one of those stars does come here in the summer, then it’s like, ‘Whew! That would increase our win total by, like, 20!’ You read it. You look at it. But in terms of paying attention to it? Not too much,” Nance Jr. said.

Los Angeles is on quite a tear as of late, even without the services of rookie point guard Lonzo Ball for the last six games due to a minor MCL sprain. The Lakers have won four straight games and have been victorious in eight of their last 10 contests.
