The Los Angeles Lakers are mired in ninth place in the NBA's Western Conference, behind the upstart Houston Rockets for eighth place.

The Lakers are hoping for better news on the player personnel front this season as they hope to reach full strength heading into the second half of the season.

The In-Season Tournament Champions were the subject of many trade rumors recently. The latest power rankings showed how far Los Angeles has to go to become a contender following their In-Season tournament victory.

On Wednesday, the lakers got a professional news update on the team's situation involving a key offseason addition.

Gabe Vincent Injury Update Shared

Gabe Vincent came over to Los Angeles from the Miami Heat this offseason. A recent injury has been cause for concern, but a professional injury update from Brad Turner on X has given Lakers fans newfound hope.

“Lakers guard Gabe Vincent underwent a successful arthroscopic surgical procedure on his left knee today,” Turner said. “The procedure was performed by Dr. Kristofer J. Jones at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.

“Vincent will be re-evaluated by Lakers team doctors in about 8 weeks, per team,” he added.

Vincent's Impact on Lakers

Vincent has played in just five games so far this season, averaging an uncharacteristically low 5.4 points per game so far.

Last season he averaged four points more than this season with the Miami Heat, whose improbable run to the NBA Finals captured the imagination of an entire city. The hope for Lakers fans now and players including LeBron James is that Vincent's health takes center stage.

Once that is squared away, Vincent could spark another long playoff run for Darvin Ham's team down the stretch.
