LaVar Ball says LeBron James winning title in LA is only way he can top Michael Jordan
With the hopes of landing soon-to-be free agent LeBron James, public figure LaVar Ball has once again made a bold prediction claiming that the former NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP) will only pass Michael Jordan as the greatest of all time if he wins a title with the Los Angeles Lakers.
In a recent story by Lakers Nation, Ball has once again opened his mouth saying that James has always reached the pinnacle of success everywhere he goes winning championships in Miami and Cleveland and a chip with the Lakers would definitely make him a better player than Jordan.
“People keep saying, ‘How does LaVar know LeBron is coming?’ Because he’s a businessman. You did everything in Cleveland. You win five more championships in Cleveland, who cares? You already won one for your town. You’ve been to the Finals too many times and not won enough, to be considered better than Jordan. The only way you can be considered better than Jordan is everywhere you went, you’ve won a championship. Went to Miami, won a championship. Came back to Cleveland, won a championship. Go to the Lakers, third team, and win some championships. Now you’re better than Jordan.”
The Lakers are currently struggling and find themselves out of the playoff picture. With James’ contract expiring after this year, some teams have already made their pitches to recruit the three-time NBA champion and LaVar and the Lakers have certainly made a good one.
