The Los Angeles Lakers lost a close game to the Memphis Grizzlies 104-99 on Wednesday. The Lakers and Grizzlies, as well as stars LeBron James and Ja Morant, went back-and-forth in the contest, with LeBron and Morant putting on a duel for the ages. Morant joined Carmelo Anthony in the NBA record books for his impressive performance against LeBron, prompting The King to issue a one-word description of Ja after the monster performance.

Ja Morant posted 41 points and 10 rebounds en route to leading the Memphis Grizzlies to a 104-99 comeback win over the Los Angeles Lakers at home on Wednesday.

After the game, Lakers forward LeBron James called Morant “spectacular.”

Spectacular is exactly what Grizzlies star Ja Morant was against LeBron James and the Lakers on Wednesday night. LeBron was excellent as well, pouring in 37 points, 13 rebounds, and seven assists but even that wasn't enough to stop the offensive inferno that was Morant on Wednesday night.

Morant was at his best in the second half against Los Angeles. He put on a show in the third period, dropping 14 points, including a last-second three at the buzzer. At one point, the Grizzlies star scored 11 straight points in the fourth quarter to seal the win over LeBron and the Lakers.

LeBron, who has seen many great performances from the opponent on the other side of the court, was clearly very impressed with Morant. The Grizzlies star has taken a third year leap this season, as he's averaging career-highs in points, 24.5, rebounds, 5.7, three-point percentage, 38.3, and steals, with 1.5 per contest.

One thing is for sure. LeBron James, the Lakers and the rest of the NBA will surely be seeing plenty more ‘spectacular' performances from Grizzlies star Ja Morant.
