The Los Angeles Lakers' LeBron James agrees with the “stay at home” order in Los Angeles.

As residents in Los Angeles County are ordered to stay at home, the veteran forward is clearly in agreement. Local citizens are obviously permitted to shop for essentials such as food. However, L.A. county officials have ordered citizens to take shelter.

The order is in place to shut down all nonessential businesses. Prior to this order by Mayor Terry Tornek, only restaurants, bars and fitness centers were forced to close down.

Via Donna Littlejohn and Bradley Bermont of The Los Angeles Daily News:

“While exact details of the order and enforcement mechanisms are still unclear, Tornek confirmed the order would force the closure of all nonessential businesses.

If it follows similar moves from counties in the Bay Area and across the state, the only workplaces labeled essential and allowed to stay open would be first responders, grocery stores and certified farmers markets, financial institutions, caregivers, mail services and restaurants serving takeout and delivery orders, among others.”

It's clear that action needs to be taken to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus. The coronavirus situation has been very bad in Italy, with 3,405 people dying due to the pandemic.

The mayor wants to make it clear that there needs to be action to prevent the spread of this virus:

“This is not going to be Italy where they’re arresting people on the street for being outside,” Tornek said in a phone interview. “But there has to be real rigor to interrupt the expansion of this virus.”

It was revealed on Thursday night that two Lakers players have tested positive for the virus. That's not even mentioning that the Boston Celtics' Marcus Smart also revealed that he has tested positive for coronavirus.

Despite speculation, JaVale McGee was not among the Lakers players that tested positive.
