Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James is in talks to produce a “Friday the 13th” reboot, according to horror movie news site Bloody Disgusting.

According to the report, James' SpringHill Entertainment is currently in discussions with Vertigo Entertainment to produce the reboot of the popular film.

The 33-year-old star is known to be a horror fan, as he has posted stuff on social media before about horror films and such, so it will be interesting to see how all of this will develop and if James and SpringHill can bring this reboot to life.

“Friday the 13th” first came out in 1980 and is still popular to this day. There are already 12 installments in the horror movie franchise, with the most recent a 2009 reboot with the same title.

James and SpringHill currently have a lot of projects in development, most notably the highly anticipated sequel of “Space Jam.” James' production studio is also responsible for documentary show “Student Athlete” and the upcoming docu-series “Shut Up and Dribble.”

James, a 14-time NBA All-Star, moved to Los Angeles over the summer and joined the Lakers. However, fans and pundits alike believe that James' reason in choosing the Purple and Gold is more than just about basketball. And sure enough, considering the recent developments, it can be said that the former Cleveland Cavaliers and Miami Heat superstar has set his sights on Hollywood to build his entertainment empire.

If the ‘Friday the 13th' reboot ever comes to fruition, it has the potential to be a huge hit. Bloody Disgusting cited in their report that the new “Halloween” movie earned over $70 million during their opening weekend.

Can you imagine what the reboot of “Friday the 13th” movie would make?

James certainly has his hands full with all these off-court businesses. However, he may need to focus on his new team first as the Lakers are still searching for their first win of the season.
