LeBron James doesn't sound alarmed even after the Los Angeles Lakers failed to get a commanding 3-0 lead against the Miami Heat in their NBA Finals showdown on Sunday.
Sans injured stars Bam Adebayo and Goran Dragic, Miami rode the hot-shooting of Jimmy Butler to escape with an impressive 115-104 win in Game 3.
A visibly irked James entertained questions from reporters postgame, noting that he expected the Heat to come out with their guns blazing in Game 3. However, he has maintained his confidence about the Lakers' chances in the final series.
LeBron James was up to his usual greatness in Game 3, leading LA with 25 points, 10 rebounds, eights assists and two rejections in 39 minutes. He did struggle from downtown, making just one of his five attempts and shooting 9-of-16 from the field overall.
The Lakers, however, received lackluster production from one half of their dynamic duo, as Anthony Davis struggled with just 15 points, five rebounds and three assists in 33 minutes.
Sweet-shooting forwards Markieff Morris and Kyle Kuzma added 19 points apiece, but the Purple and Gold were no match to Miami's fourth-quarter barrage. Butler picked them apart on both ends of the floor, while Kelly Olynyk and Tyler Herro put an end to that late Laker run with timely long-ranged shots.
James' seemingly nonchalant stance is certainly understandable considering they are just three games into the series. However, allowing the Heat to regain some confidence after winning without their two All-Stars may come back and bite them in the rear.
LBJ may say that he is not too concerned, but his body language may signify otherwise. The three-time NBA champion stormed off prematurely before the final buzzer sounded in Game 3, causing a delay of the game.
The Lakers should definitely be alarmed if they put a similar performance in Game 4 and allow the Heat to even up the score.
