The new-look Los Angeles Lakers have been making a strong case as one of the most exciting teams this upcoming season. But head coach Luke Walton has been managing LeBron James' minutes, making sure that his superstar and the rest of the team peaks at the start of the regular season.

According to Kyle Goon of The OC Register, Walton is perfectly handling James' condition and how important it is that the Lakers don't get their health compromised by the team's preseason games and activities.

“I think it's been going on 11-12 days with a double-day in there, and he's been great,” Walton said of LeBron. “So it's more of just, look, we've got to be ready for the regular season. Same idea. Tomorrow is off too and he already went and got a workout in at the facility this morning. So it's more just making sure that when the regular season starts, we're peaking.”

While James has not slowed down from being the dominant force that he is, Walton is obviously limiting his minutes, opting not to play the 33-year old future Hall of Famer during the 2nd half of each of the Lakers' preseason games. Reports have also circulated that sophomore point guard Lonzo Ball has already recovered from his injury, but the 6-foot-6 do-it-all playmaker is yet to see action on the court.

Lakeshow is back in Los Angeles, and the only problem that will hamper their progress will likely be injuries. With James in town, the Lakers are already thinking championships, and their health will be a priority for them moving forward.
