A very vocal section of Los Angeles Lakers supporters wants to see more Julius Randle. Lakers coach Luke Walton revealed how some fans seated close to the Lakers bench area yell at him constantly during games to get Randle off the bench and onto the court.

Randle, who had been a consistent starter in his first couple seasons with the Lakers, lost his starting spot to Larry Nance Jr. this season and has come off the bench in each of the first seven games. Give Randle a lot of credit, though, as he’s responded well to the move. Instead of sulking about losing his starting gig, he’s put his head down and has played some of the best basketball of his career.

Randle is shooting over 63 percent from the floor while averaging 11.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in just 19 minutes per game thus far. He had another impressive performance in LA’s win over the Detroit Pistons as he finished with 17 points on 7-of-9 shooting and seven rebounds in just 17 minutes of action.

While Randle’s strong performances haven’t quite translated to more minutes just yet, it’ll be increasingly harder for Walton to ignore those fans yelling for more Randle if the forward continues his promising early-season play.
