Los Angeles Lakers legend and former team executive Magic Johnson was at a loss for words after witnessing the Purple and Gold fall apart on Wednesday against the Portland Trail Blazers.

The Lakers were largely expected to win the game, and for good reason. While they were without Russell Westbrook due to a back injury, they still had LeBron James and Anthony Davis suiting up. Sure, LeBron had a knee issue he was enduring, but the Blazers were far from being at their best.

Portland was still without Damian Lillard, and they recently traded away their second-best scorer in CJ McCollum. They have a rising star in Anfernee Simons and a stabilizing presence down low in Jusuf Nurkic, but seriously, they should've been no match to LeBron and AD.

With that said, Johnson was in disbelief that the Lakers actually lost. LA was up by seven at the end of the first half, but they were unable to hold on as the Blazers clawed their way back.

As Magic Johnson's reaction showed, it was undoubtedly an embarrassing performance for Frank Vogel's men. They can do better, but all the losing seems to have rubbed off pretty badly on them.

LeBron James and Anthony Davis combined for 47 points and were quite efficient. Unfortunately, they had a major problem taking care of the ball, committing 21 turnovers which doomed them.

As for the Blazers, they got great production from Anfernee Simons who had 29 points, while Jusuf Nurkic finished with a monster double-double of 19 points and 12 boards.

The Lakers are now ninth in the West standings and five games behind the automatic qualifying spot. While they can still turn it around, there is no doubt things are not looking good for them.
