Magic Johnson has been critical of the Los Angeles Lakers performance this season to say the least. But the Laker legend changed his tune on Monday following the team's road victory over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Johnson posted the following comment on Twitter:

“If the @Lakers play with this type of effort, speed and quickness on defense and offense, I think we could have a good playoff run. Especially with Anthony Davis coming back!”

Magic Johnson is not once to mince words so this statement has to leave Laker Nation feeling more hopeful than before moving forward.

As for the game itself, the Lakers defeated the Cavs by a final score of 131-120 in Cleveland. LeBron posted a historic 30-point triple-double to lead the team to the win. Russell Westbrook added a 20 point, 11 assist double-double while D.J. Augustin contributed 20 points on 7-7 shooting from the field. Los Angeles also only coughed the ball up 8 times compared to an impressive 34 total team assists. They were locked-in as a team all night long and their strong effort obviously left Johnson feeling hopeful about their chances as the regular season winds down.

Magic had previously expressed his frustration with the team this year. He is a die hard Laker fan who is one of the best players in franchise history so he undeniably has the right to be harsh on them when necessary. At the same time, it is good to see him heap praise after a big win such as this.

The Los Angeles Lakers will try to start a winning streak and keep Magic Johnson feeling impressed on Wednesday in LA against the 76ers.
