Besides being excellent basketball players, Los Angles Lakers stars LeBron James and Anthony Davis are known for their high basketball IQ and knowledge of the game. Because of this, Lakers General Manager Rob Pelinka consulted the pair as the team rounded out its roster this season. Pelinka claimed that both players opinion played a part in how the team took on free agency:

After landing two superstars, Pelinka knows that it's important you keep them happy. This is especially critical in Davis' case, as he will be a free agent next season. If the Lakers want him to keep calling STAPLES Center home, the team will have to make sure he feels wanted and accepted.
It's always been rumored that James has a big say in what players his team brings in to the fold. While with the Cavaliers, the midseason trade that revamped the entire roster in February of 2018 was apparently engineered by James. He also seemed to heavily push the Lakers pursuit of Davis, knowing it would cost most of the young core. He got his desired outcome in both scenarios.
Davis and James are such dominant players that they will always have some type of say in how the roster around them is created. Now, it is up to them to lead the team constructed to new heights.
