Citing an unknown source, NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal claimed that the Los Angeles Lakers prefer to face the Miami Heat over the Boston Celtics in the Finals.

O'Neal spilled the info on Inside the NBA. Since he didn't want to name his source, Charles Barkley was skeptical about Shaq's claim.

The Lakers sealed their place in the 2020 NBA Finals on Saturday by booting out the Denver Nuggets in five games. This is their first Finals appearance since 2010 when they won the title over the Boston Celtics.

Shaquille O'Neal didn't really state the reason for his claims, but it is worth noting the Heat and the Celtics are really stellar and well-coached teams.

From a narrative perspective, there's really not much going on between a Lakers-Heat showdown except that LeBron James will face his former team and head coach.

On the other hand, another Lakers-Celtics NBA Finals matchup would add a new chapter to the famous rivalry. LeBron and Anthony Davis versus Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown would certainly be a sight to see.

The Lakers actually have a total of 16 NBA titles, only behind the Celtics' league-leading 17. An LA win would knot things up, while a Celtics victory would keep the bragging rights in Beantown.

Be as it may, the bubble games have been nothing short of entertaining. With that in mind, whatever team the Puprle and Gold face, they'll surely give it everything they've got.
