The Los Angeles Lakers' coaching search has become a media circus with countless pundits weighing in on the situation including Stephen A. Smith and Kendrick Perkins lately. Smith said what the entire sports world has been thinking in a recent conversation on First Take, and said it with gusto.

Smith's comments came during a time when another NBA head coach's firing led to a surprising take on the Lakers' coaching search. Bronny James' NBA Draft prospects were given a vote of confidence by ‘The Big Ticket,' Kevin Garnett.

On Friday, Stephen A. Smith shared his thoughts on the Lakers' search, during which he took aim at the alleged naivety of Lakers and NBA fans across the country.

Smith's No-Holds-Barred JJ Redick Take

LeBron James and JJ Redick have hosted a podcast called ‘Mind the Game Pod' during which each the current NBA forward and former NBA shooting guard discuss basketball strategy, intellect and similar topics. The podcast is foreshadowing for what's to come with the Lakers coaching search according to Smith, and everyone should see the writing on the wall.

The Lakers fired former coach Darvin Ham earlier this month after a loss to the defending champion Denver Nuggets in the first round that wasn't particularly close.

Lakers' NBA Draft Prospects

The fate of the Lakers' first round NBA Draft selection, pick number 17, is currently up in the air. According to reporter Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer, the Lakers will most likely be allowed to keep their first round pick, if the Pelicans allow them to do so as expected.

The Lakers still owe the Pelicans another pick for the Anthony Davis trade from June 2019. The latest draft projections from CBS Sports have a litany of guards being selected around pick number 17 including Terrence Shannon Jr. of Illinois basketball, Isaiah Collier Jr. of USC basketball, and Cody Williams of Colorado basketball.
