It has been nearly a week since the helicopter tragedy that took away one of basketball's most respected and decorated superstars in Kobe Bryant. As soon as the news of Bryant's untimely passing broke out, fans immediately flocked Staples Center and built a memorial tribute for the Los Angeles Lakers legend.

Lee Zeidman, the president of Staples Center, said that Vanessa Bryant requested for the items left in her late husband's memorial outside the arena, according to Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times.

“It will have been a week. We have contractually obligated events that are moving in,” he said. “Vanessa had reached out to us and said, ‘Our family would like the items out there.’ So we’re going to catalog every one of them. By that I mean, T-shirts, letters, basketballs, stuffed animals, toys. We’re going to put those in specially made containers and we’re going to ship them to the family.”

Lakers fans dedicated all sorts of stuff — jerseys, shirts, basketballs, stuffed toys, and even personal letters — as tribute to the life of their beloved hero.

Vanessa finally broke her silence on her husband and daughter's passing with a touching and emotional post on social media. It's unimaginable the amount of pain their entire family, and the families of all those lost in the tragic accident, is going through right now.

Definitely, Kobe Bryant left a lasting impression on not just his fans, but his naysayers as well. His style of play wasn't everybody's cup of tea and for sure, the Lakers great had his fair share of haters. However, his unrelenting drive to be great and determination to win at all costs made him one of the most respected athletes of all time.

The world is a different place without you, Kobe.
