Fnatic parts ways with its most iconic player. EU's star AD Carry Martin “Rekkles” Larsson is leaving the Fnatic organization. It's a tough blow for the oldest royal family in League of Legends but it is a bright new prospect for the Bot Lane master. Rekkles has always been synonymous with Fnatic in all of its ups and downs. Unfortunately for the many fans around the world, Fnatic will continue without its most iconic player.

The decision apparently came from the player himself as he looks to find success in another team. The Swedish Carry has experienced numerous successes and failures in his eight-year tenure with the esports organization.

“In the last few hours, Martin ‘Rekkles’ Larsson has informed us of his decision to sign for another team in this offseason period. After months of discussions, this marks the culmination of negotiations towards his new contract, and the end of his eight years and almost 600 games in the black and orange.”

It's a rough time for any organization to lose its most iconic player. Rekkles has served as the face of the team since it was rebuilt in 2015. The team has managed to make it back to the Worlds finals stage with Rekkles manning the Carry position. His departure follows another massive roster shift in another EU frontrunner, G2 Esports. G2 recently parted ways with its Mid-turned-Carry Luka “Perkz” Perković earlier this month.

This opens the possibility for Rekkles to join up with Fnatic's greatest rival team. Both G2 and Fnatic have made it to the grand finals at Worlds in recent years. Imagine how dangerous G2 will become with both Caps and Rekkles reunited as the primary damage dealers.
