LeBron James might be suiting up for Team USA next season. The Lakers star was one of many American basketball fans who reacted to Team USA's 113-11 FIBA World Cup loss to Germany. Fans criticized the Team USA World Cup squad for the lack of star power that the roster displayed. Sportscenter posted an Instagram post of LeBron James alongside Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Jayson Tatum, and other NBA Stars. Lebron commented on the post with an eye emoji.

LeBron started his Olympic career in 2004 with the Bronze medal-winning Team USA squad. James was coming off of his rookie season with the Cavaliers and was joined by future NBA stars Dwayne Wade and Carmelo Anthony. The team was coached by Larry Brown, who prioritized playing veterans. 2004 Team USA member Stephon Marbury spoke about Brown's coaching and why he felt he was a bad fit to lead the team.

“I really had a bad experience with Larry Brown in the Olympics. It was a team full of All-Stars and he was trying to coach the team like it was his team. Telling guys how to play the ‘right way,’ what they should and shouldn’t do on the court, instead of just trying to win that gold medal.”

James continued his Olympic career, playing under head coach Mike Krzyzewski. He played in the 2008 and 2012 Olympics, helping the team win Gold both times. The Lakers forward hasn't suited up for Team USA since then.

James playing for the team would be a welcome sight, as it will likely be his last time as he winds down his career.
