Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James and Miami Heat legend Dwyane Wade had a blast on Twitter after watching a throwback story of Boston Celtics legend Larry Bird, made by Hall of Fame coach Nolan Richardson. The two absolutely lost their minds hearing the hilarious tale from Richardson, who narrated the account during his Hall of Fame speech back in 2014.

D-Wade had no words and just tweeted four emojis, while LeBron James made sure to give his praises to Larry Legend:

As Richardson detailed, he first heard of Larry Bird back when the three-time NBA champion was still playing in college with Indiana State. Richardson, a former NCAA champion coach with the Arkansas Razorbacks, said he tuned in on the radio to listen to a game between Indiana State and New Mexico State.

As Richardson mentioned, he didn't have any clue who the players were on both sides. However, the radio announcers were saying Bird's name so much that Richardson already knew how good of a player the future Celtics legend was without actually seeing him play. Then, he finished by sharing how he reacted when he finally saw Bird's picture in the newspaper the following morning, which sent the entire room into a frenzy.

Bird was certainly one of the most special players the NBA has ever seen. Unlike LeBron James and Dwyane Wade, Bird was devoid of elite athletic gifts. Nevertheless, the 6-foot-9 forward had an incredibly smart mind for the game, much like LeBron and Wade do. He led the 1980s Celtics to three NBA titles in six years and won league MVP for three straight years from 1984 to 1986.

Bird's career may have been cut short by injury, but there is no doubt that Larry Legend is one of the best to ever lace up a pair of sneakers.
