Former NBA player Earl Boykins recently shared his thoughts of the LeBron James free agency drama. He says that James will consider joining the Denver Nuggets.

Speaking on Hastings and Browman – Altitude Sports Radio, Boykins said that the King will move to Denver. He said that the Nuggets have the young pieces that James needs and wants:

“He’s gonna look at Denver. He’s gonna talk to [Nuggets president of basketball operations Tim Connelly], and he’s gonna say ‘if I sign here, what moves are you gonna make? What’s gonna be left if I decide to sign here?’ The Nuggets have the young pieces that LeBron wants around him. They do.”

This is a bold statement by Boykins. The Nuggets aren't one of the top teams being considered by analysts and fans alike. Not only do they lack the cap space, but the only real talent they have is Nikola Jokic, which Boykins tagged as “ a big that can shoot” and “can handle the basketball and pass.”

Boykins commented on Jokic, feeling that he's all the Nuggets need to lure in James:

“If they sign Jokic (their chances of signing LeBron) goes up to 35, 40%.”

While it's hard to believe Boykins' words, anything can truly happen in the NBA. But it is also good to note that the 5'5 ex-NBA player once donned the Nuggets jersey. He played four seasons there and can be considered as his best stint as a pro. The allegiance with the Mile High City runs deep. Even after parting ways almost a decade ago, he still wants the best for them.
