Would you believe it? The Detroit Lions, after 11 weeks, have figured out this thing called “winning”. After an upset win over the Minnesota Vikings a few weeks ago, Jared Goff and the Lions have taken their next prey: the Arizona Cardinals. Dan Campbell's crew wrecked the visiting team 30 – 12, beating a team that had aspirations of leading their conference.

After the game, Goff credited the Lions coaching staff and the team for the huge win. Here's what he had to say about their upset against the Cardinals: (via The Athletic)

“On paper, we don’t match up with them… On paper, we don’t. … It’s next man up and it’s the idea of: It doesn’t matter who’s out here. We’ve got a good coaching staff that we believe in and a good fight to us that allows us to win games like this.”

True, the Lions were vastly overmatched against the Cardinals today. Arizona has been one of the best teams in the NFL this season, while Detroit has been… well, Detroit. However, the team has galvanized together under new coach Dan Campbell, who has earned the respect of the team and its fans due to his passionate approach to coaching.

However, Jared Goff should also take some credit for himself as well. The Lions quarterback has struggled throughout the 2021 regular season, but he showed flashes of his 2017 brilliance against the Cardinals. He completed 21 of his 26 passes for over 210 yards, along with 3 touchdown passes.

The Lions' 2021 season is already over. However, if these past few games are any indication, we might see better times ahead for this much-maligned franchise. Here's for a better 2022 season for Jared Goff, Dan Campbell, and the rest of the team!
