The Detroit Lions have reportedly worked out former Denver Broncos quarterback Paxton Lynch, meeting with the 2016 first-round pick for a second visit this week according to ESPN's Field Yates.

Drafted with the 26th overall pick, Lynch was expected to be the future face of the franchise for Broncos. Instead, the former Memphis Tiger showed little development in his two season with the Broncos, throwing for 792 yards and four touchdowns with four interceptions in five games, including four starts.

Lynch previously worked out with the Bufallo Bills in an attempt to extend his NFL career.

The Lions currently have Matthew Stafford as their starting quarterback and Matt Cassel as the backup signal-caller. The Bills, on the other hand, named Nathan Peterman as their starter with rookie Josh Allen as the No. 2 quarterback.

Buffalo traded A.J. McCarron to the Oakland Raiders early this month, so the team is probably looking for a replacement for him on the depth chart. McCarron didn’t play well in the preseason but he’s a lot better player than Lynch.

Both the Lions and the Bills don’t have an urgent need to add another quarterback, but at least for Paxton, he knows he’s still getting interests.
