PGA stars have not been shy about calling out former stars who left the PGA for the LIV Golf Tour. Rory Mcilroy, Justin Thomas, and Tiger Woods are just a few of the current PGA stars who shared their thoughts on the situation. Many believe that those who joined the LIV Golf Tour turned their backs on the PGA. Jon Rahm recently gave a brutally honest assessment on the LIV Golf Tour and it's newfound talent.
“Top be honest, part of the format is not really appealing to me,” Rahm said. “Shotgun [start], three days — is not a golf tournament to me, with no cut. It's that simple. I want to play against the world in a format that's been going on for hundreds of years.”
Rahm is considered one of the better golfers in the world. He plays with intense emotion which fires up crowds at events. He is also not shy about speaking his mind.
Jon Rahm then roasted players in an underlying manner such as Bryson DeChambeau and Dustin Johnson for taking the LIV Golf money and leaving the PGA.
“For a lot of people, I'm not going to lie, those next three, four years are worth basically their retirement plan they've given them. It's a very nice compensation to retire and sail off into the sunset.”
Rahm also explained how he plays for the love of the game rather than for monetary reasons. He also stated that he could retire today and live a happy life without taking LIV Golf money.
