When there's a coaching change in college football, it's smart to assume there will be an impact on recruiting. Kids often follow a coach to their new school, or they simply just decide to go somewhere else. The former is what happened with the LSU Tigers and wide receiver recruit Decoldest Crawford.

While former LSU coach Ed Orgeron hasn't been hired anywhere, former Tigers wide receivers coach Mickey Joseph recently joined Scott Frost's Nebraska Cornhuskers coaching staff. Crawford has now decided to follow Joseph to Lincoln after recently decommitting from LSU following the hiring of Brian Kelly to replace Orgeron.

Crawford is a four-star recruit on ESPN and a three-star on the 247Sports Composite . The 6-foot-1 wideout hails from Louisiana and was recruited by Joseph to LSU.

The Tigers also recently lost quarterback Max Johnson to the transfer portal. The former LSU quarterback has committed to Texas A&M.

While it's certainly no fun to lose key players like this, Kelly still has a solid recruiting class coming in for 2022, ranking 18th in the 247Sports Composite Team Recruiting Rankings. Once he has a bit more time at LSU, one has to think he'll start racking up some major recruiting wins as the Tigers look to return to glory.
