Orlando Magic small forward Evan Fournier is coming to the defense of Carmelo Anthony.

The Houston Rockets announced Thursday that they are parting ways with Carmelo Anthony after just 10 games. It just wasn't a good fit for Melo, who averaged 13.4 points and 5.4 rebounds with Houston while shooting 40.5 percent from the field, 32.8 percent from beyond the arc and 68.2 percent from the free-throw line.

Houston was 4-6 in the games Carmelo Anthony played in. The team had a net rating of minus-9.0 with Anthony on the court and minus-0.2 with him on the bench, per NBA.com.

Despite Melo's release from Houston, Evan Fournier doesn't want to hear or see any Carmelo Anthony slander. The Magic swingman says Melo's résumé speaks for itself and that the veteran small forward is a basketball legend.

Anthony is going to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer. He has career averages of 24.0 points per game and is 10-time All-Star. The 34-year-old was also the 2013 NBA scoring champion.

So while the past few seasons haven't been kind to Carmelo Anthony, let's not forget just how good he was during his prime. Melo was a walking bucket and one of the best scorers the game has ever seen.
