Orlando Magic guard Markelle Fultz was among the shortlist of players to have worked out with the legendary Kobe Bryant this summer, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times. The former No. 1 overall pick of the 2017 NBA Draft had a woeful stint with the Philadelphia 76ers after injuries plagued him in his first two seasons.

Fultz, a 6-foot-4 guard, was then traded to the Magic before the deadline, sitting out the remainder of the season as the training staff assessed the best route for his return.

Fultz has reportedly worked tirelessly on rebuilding his jump shot after long sessions of therapy to fix his thoracic outlet syndrome, which constantly caused hitches on his form through the course of his first two years in the league.

The Washington standout is expected to be a full participant in the Magic's training camp next week, expected to hit the ground running after a hype video was released yesterday signaling his return to the court. The third-year guard is seen taking jump shots from all distances a lot more fluidly than before, but there is still a certain awkwardness pushing the ball from the 3-point line, which signals to his inability to hoist it comfortably from long-range.

However his pull-up game seems to have mostly returned to normal, able to elevate and release the ball more comfortably without any hitches on his form. The hope is that these sessions with Bryant have helped him regain confidence in his game as he enters a vital prove-it season, which could decide his fate in this league.
