Tracy McGrady's career looked to slowly take off as a member of the Toronto Raptors, but following a first-round loss in 2000, he parted ways with the organization after being stuck behind his cousin Vince Carter for the first three years of his career.

The Florida native would play close to his home with the Orlando Magic and next to a more established star in Grant Hill.

As it turns out, Hill would only play 47 games with the organization, forcing T-Mac into a primary role, and one that would see him win back-to-back scoring titles in 2003 and 2004.

Prior to his Hall of Fame induction, McGrady reminisced of what his career could have been if Hill would have stayed healthy as part of a dual punch in Orlando.

“A lot of people forget that when I was in Orlando, Grant Hill was my teammate,” McGrady said, according to Alex Kennedy of HoopsHype. “So, If I can take a team to a fifth seed without another superstar, without an All-Star — if I had Grant Hill, it’s no question.”

“You have a window in this league. You look at LeBron, it’s very rare that somebody has the longevity of winning. Kobe as well. They had a great team.”

McGrady's resume lacks the winning that has made such a substantial part of so many Hall of Famers, but the 6-foot-8 dynamo was ultimately a victim of circumstance and what could have been if Hill or others would have been healthy when he was at his peak.
