The Orlando Magic made a surprising decision not to offer Mo Bamba a new contract, allowing the young center to hit unrestricted free agency. Having moved on from Bamba, the Magic have now set their sights on another promising young big man. According to NBA insider Marc Stein, Orlando is looking to poach Clippers' center Isaiah Hartenstein this offseason.

Hartenstein is set to hit unrestricted free agency this offseason and the Clippers haven't made an indication either way as to whether or not they plan to re-sign him. Considering they just inked Ivica Zubac to a new deal, they may feel less inclined to re-sign Hartenstein, who will also likely be seeking a longer contract.

With Bamba out in Orlando, the Magic may just maneuver their way into the Hartenstein market and pursue the 24-year-old in free agency. He's shown flashes of promise early on, but has been somewhat of a journeyman thus far during his NBA career. In his first four seasons, Hartenstein has played for as many teams.

Last year with the Clippers, Hartenstein averaged 8.3 points, 4.9 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.1 blocks per game while logging 17.9 minutes per night. At 24, Hartenstein would be a great fit for the project they're building in Orlando, and would likely be able to compete for more playing time than he's been given at his previous stops, especially with Bamba heading for the exit door.

Bamba also figures to have various suitors in free agency, though it appears the Magic view Hartenstein as a better fit for their rebuild than their own former No. 6 overall pick.
