Orlando Magic point guard Markelle Fultz put New Orleans Pelicans star Jrue Holiday on skates with a shifty behind-the-back move that led to a highlight-reel jam on Sunday afternoon.

Fultz is one of the more challenging players to stop when he has a full head of steam, but this play showcased more than just his athleticism. He caught Holiday reaching with a slight crossover dribble when he crossed the timeline, immediately going behind his back to free himself for the dunk.

The former No. 1 overall pick has made a number of sensational plays this season, though his highlights might serve as cause for more frustration given that he has yet to truly break out.

That said, Fultz is making strides. Magic head coach Steve Clifford made him the starting point guard a few games into the season, and he has earned more playing time as he gathers experience leading the first unit.

Fultz entered Sunday's game averaging 11.7 points, 4.1 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals in just under 26 minutes per game. He has yet to make gains with respect to his perimeter shooting (.225), but Fultz is converting nicely around the basket and in the mid-range game.

The Magic were 11-14 and eighth in the Eastern Conference prior to Sunday's matchup. They have been one of the better defensive teams in the league (second in opponents scoring average), though they have struggled to put the ball in the cylinder with Nikola Vucevic dealing with injuries and Aaron Gordon lacking some assertiveness on that end of the floor.

However, Fultz's steady improvements are certainly an encouraging sign as he hopes to get his career back on track.
