Despite a recent defensive struggle that saw Manchester City concede eight goals in their last three Premier League games, manager Pep Guardiola remains confident that his team will secure a fourth consecutive league title, reported by GOAL. The defending champions faced setbacks against Liverpool, Chelsea, and Tottenham Hotspur, resulting in draws and defensive lapses. In their latest fixture against Spurs, City twice surrendered the lead in a 3-3 draw.

Guardiola expressed optimism during a pre-match press conference, asserting, “If you ask me today, my feeling is that we're going to win the Premier League. If we play at the levels that we showed against Liverpool and Tottenham, we're going to do it again – knowing that it is not easy, of course.”

Despite the defensive challenges, Guardiola hinted at potential changes, including the involvement of out-of-favour midfielder Kalvin Phillips. The manager addressed Phillips' chances of playing in the upcoming clash against Aston Villa, stating, “There's a chance. Today, I have to see training in the afternoon and see how the players are and feel. The decision will be made tomorrow.”

Currently, Manchester City occupies the third position in the league, trailing three points behind leaders Arsenal and one point behind second-placed Liverpool. Their upcoming fixture against Aston Villa is crucial for their title aspirations, with a midweek clash against Unai Emery's team followed by a weekend trip to face Luton Town at Kenilworth Road. Pep Guardiola remains determined, emphasizing that replicating the performance levels seen against top rivals will contribute to their title pursuit.
