Dallas Mavericks star Luka Doncic didn't mince words when he voiced his displeasure with how the NBA Playoffs will be formatted this season. And now, Mavericks owner Mark Cuban is doubling down on what his all-star player said.

It is worth noting that as things currently sit in the Western Conference, the Mavericks have the 7-seed, meaning they would be right in the middle of the play-in tournament.

Mark Cuban was part of a unanimous vote that passed as this season was set to get underway to implement the new format. Now, he regrets the decision. Perhaps part of that could be because the Mavericks are staring down the barrel of being in the 7-10 seed range that requires the play-in tournament just to make the actual playoffs.

Regardless, the new format will likely confuse many fans as the format isn't very simplistic.

The 7-seed will take on the 8-seed to see who gets the 7-seed. Meanwhile the 9-seed will take on the 10-seed to see who stays alive. Then whoever wins that matchup between the last two in, will have to keep climbing the ladder against the other two teams left in order to get into the postseason. While the change offers more teams a chance to punch a ticket into the playoffs, it could also exhaust those teams who could wind up playing games left and right before having to take on the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds in their respective conference.

For now, it's safe to bet that every team in the Eastern and Western Conference will be aiming for a top 6 spot in their conference to avoid the dreaded play-in tournament. The Mavericks are one of many hoping to be on the right side of the coin.
