Rick Carlisle is expected to have several suitors after he stepped down as the Dallas Mavericks' head coach, and owner Mark Cuban is not making life hard for him.

Before Carlisle resigned from his post with the Mavs, he has two years left in his contract that runs through 2022-23 after an extension and restructuring in 2019. With that said, Dallas can ask for  compensation from the team that will hire Carlisle as coach.

However, Cuban is not doing that since he he wants to avoid any complications in the job search of his good friend and the lone coach that led his franchise to the NBA championship.

This is certainly a kind and generous gesture from Mark Cuban, one which Rick Carlisle will definitely appreciate since it means there will be no issues should he take a job on a different team.

Carlisle became the Mavs' head coach in 2008 and led the franchise to nine playoff appearances, missing the postseason just four times. He guided Dallas to the 2011 championship, beating the likes of the Los Angeles Lakers, a Kevin Durant-led Oklahoma City Thunder and the LeBron James-powered Miami Heat to lift the Larry O'Brien trophy.

While Carlisle's exit is controversial to say the least–especially with all the front office issues and talks about his relationship with Luka Doncic–there is no denying that he has done some much to elevate the franchise into contender status.

Cuban has nothing but good words to say to Carlisle when he left, and his latest gesture only shows the genuine friendship they share and built through the years.
