Boban Marjanovic of the Dallas Mavericks evidently wants to be the tallest magical being on the planet. The Mavs' 7-foot-4 center entered AmericanAirlines Arena for Thursday night's matchup against the Brooklyn Nets dressed in Harry Potter-esque attire, including a Gryffindor scarf, a wand, and even a sorting hat.

Marjanovic has developed as one of the foremost personalities in the NBA even besides his massive stature, drawing cheers and demands for insertion in the game everywhere the Mavs go.

The 31-year-old also developed a particularly close and rather humorous friendship with Philadelphia 76ers forward and former teammate Tobias Harris, and he is not afraid to mix it up with opponents on the floor.

The Serbian native has also been in awe of Mavs teammate and fellow European Luka Doncic's MVP-caliber play this season (via Eurohoops.net):

“He’s awesome. He helps the team a lot. I really enjoy watching him play. He makes something new every night, a new move or something that surprises everybody. It’s amazing to be around him. He’s a great player and what is more important, a great person,” Marjanovic told Eurohoops.

He noted that Doncic impressed him more on and off the court as he got to know him better personally: “I didn’t know him personally but he is a great guy, he makes the team better. He made me think about how much of an all-around player he is. Helps the team, a nice teammate, passes the ball to everybody and score his points. I don’t know how many people can do that in this world and he gets better every game.”

Marjanovic has not played a whole lot this season (averaging just 9.6 minutes in 16 games), but he has made the most of his opportunities, averaging 5.0 points and 4.1 rebounds. Those equate to per-36 averages of 18.7 points and 15.4 rebounds.

Perhaps “Bobi” has a magic trick in store for the Nets.
