Francisco Lindor is back on top. After a disappointing first season with the New York Mets, he is having himself a strong season and leading the team to one of the best records in baseball. As the calendar turns to June, he notched a historic accomplishment.

With a sacrifice fly in the seventh inning in a win against the Washington Nationals, he marked his 10th consecutive game hitting in a run. The only other player in Mets history to accomplish the feat is Mike Piazza, who did it twice in consecutive seasons.

Lindor began his streak against the Colorado Rockies and continued it through series against the San Francisco Giants, Philadelphia Phillies and now the Nationals. He has recorded double-digit RBIs in five games, including six against the Giants, to go along with 20 total RBIs, 15 hits a pair of each type of extra-base hit.

The Mets are 8-2 and through Lindor's streak, currently riding a six-game winning streak and an overall 35-17 record. Coming into today, he is hitting .260 with an on-base percentage of .346 and a slugging percentage of .444 with 51 hits in as many games and eight home runs. The All-Star is putting his name back on the map.

New York is enjoying a phenomenal season so far. Despite injuries to Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer, they started June with a 10.5-game lead in the National League East. With deGrom's scapula injury fully healed, he will be working his way back and joining a team playing great and having an even better time.
