Mike Perry didn't really surprise anyone when he left MMA to sign with a Bare-Knuckle Boxing organization. Many felt it was the perfect fit as it matched his style and even his personality.
Mike Perry went on The MMA Hour to discuss the move and whether or not we can expect to see him back in MMA or event he UFC. He was allowed to leave the promotion once his contract expired and he was not re-signed.
“I think I could go back (to MMA). I can still grapple a little bit, because I use it when I punch, and it works against really good grapplers, punching works. And vice versa, grappling really works against really good punchers. It’s just, I want to let it go. So if I know that punching is all we’re doing, I feel like I could do better at that. I don’t know,” Perry said on The MMA Hour.
The return to MMA also has to do with coming back to the UFC. Many fighters that leave the sport often don't return to the organization.

Mike Perry doesn't think that's going to be the case. His focus right now is on bare-knuckle but a return to the UFC is still possible.
“Sure, yeah (I could return to the UFC). Now it’s like, I’ve got these people’s money behind me right, because they signed me. They saw we’re all going to put out. So, I’m going to be this champion over here.”
Mike Perry is still waiting to find out when he will make his debut and who he will box. The debut is sure to be an exciting one.
