The Dodgers look to win their third game in a row against the Cardinals, in the third of a four-game set at Busch Stadium in St. Louis. It's time to continue our MLB odds series and make a Dodgers-Cardinals prediction and pick.

Although the Dodgers have won the first time games of the series, the current lines are super interesting here. The Cardinals are -1 1/2 (+187) on the run line, yet they are +104 on the moneyline. To me, that seems like the Cardinals are by far the best bet here, especially considering they'll have Adam Wainwright on the hill. The Dodgers have won 7 of 10, while the Cardinals have lost four consecutive games. But St. Louis remains in the Wild Card race, just 3 1/2 games behind the Padres and Reds for that final playoff spot.

Here’s how the bookmakers have set the lines for Wednesday's game.

Why The Dodgers Could Win

The Dodgers have so many good pitchers that Mitch White often gets lost in the mix. But since July 31, the RHP holds a 3.44 ERA in 18 1/3 innings pitched. In this span, his best outing was a 7 1/3 inning relief appearance in which he entered the game in the second inning and allowed just two hits, no runs, and two walks against the Pirates. However, he has yet to pitch above four full innings this season outside of that one long relief appearance, so this may very well end up being a bullpen game for the Dodgers. Thankfully, led by Kenley Jansen, the Dodgers have one of the league's best bullpens and should be able to shutdown a Cardinals lineup that is in a tailspin right now. At the plate, the Dodgers probably have baseball's most feared lineup as well. Literally from top to bottom, this team has stars, and anyone from Will Smith to even the struggling Cody Bellinger has the potential to hit the ball hard and out of the yard. The Dodgers are looking for the sweep in this series, and backed by a strong performance from White, followed up by the ‘pen, LA can be just one win away from that sweep after a victory today.

Why The Cardinals Could Win

Adam Wainwright remains one of the best pitchers in all of baseball. On the season, he has posted a 2.91 ERA, but since August 1, his ERA number has dropped to 1.43. In August alone, Wainwright had three starts of at least seven innings and no runs allowed. Granted, all of these starts were against the Pirates, whose offense is no comparison to the Dodgers. Wainwright holds a 2.51 career ERA against the Dodgers, so he's had success against powerful Dodgers lineups in the past. I wouldn't put it past Wainwright to throw another gem, even against one of the league's best offenses. After a rough first half of the season, Wainwright has been in the zone since the All-Star break (1.92) ERA and can take down any MLB lineup. The Cardinals getting plus money here on the moneyline is tremendous value.

Final Dodgers-Cardinals Prediction & Pick

LA looks lost against Wainwright, who throws seven shutout innings, including a late strikeout of former teammate Albert Pujols. Meanwhile, the Cardinals tack on three early runs against Mitch White, which is all the runs the Cards will need. St. Louis wins 3-0 and gets back on a winning streak.

FINAL PICK: Cardinals MONEYLINE (+104)
