The Colorado Rockies host the Los Angeles Dodgers for the fourth and final time of this opening series. The first three games between these teams have been all-out slugfests. LA has taken two out of the first three and has been favored in every one. Last night's affair saw the Dodgers pull off a 6-5 victory on some late-inning heroics. The west coast rivals played each other 10 times in 2020. Los Angeles won the season series 7-3. It’s time to continue our MLB odds series and make a Dodgers-Rockies prediction and pick.

Here’s how sportsbooks have set the opening Dodgers-Rockies odds.

MLB Odds: Dodgers-Rockies Odds

Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 (-138)

Colorado Rockies +1.5 (+118)

Over 11.5 Runs (-115)

Under 11.5 Runs (-105)

Why The Dodgers Could Cover The Spread

The Los Angeles Dodgers entered 2021 as Major League Baseball's best team once again. They finished the 2020 season with the best record and capped off their dominance with a World Series title. The Dodgers enter this year as the heavy betting favorite to win their division and repeat as world champions. After dropping the season opener against Colorado, LA has bounced back in a big way. The Dodgers have won two straight games against the Rockies by a combined total of six runs.

Los Angeles saw some surprisingly great performances from catcher Austin Barnes and second baseman Zach McKinstry in last night's win. Barnes went 2 for 5 at the plate with two RBIs and McKinstry hit the deciding inside-the-park homer in the eighth inning to secure the 6-5 victory for his club. LA will send 24-year-old southpaw Julio Urias out to the bump in Sunday's series finale. Urias went 3-0 with a 3.27 ERA in 2020. In two starts against Colorado last season, Julio had a 5.40 ERA in 10 innings of work. He had a solid 2021 Spring Training, going 3-1 with a 1.69 ERA.

Why The Rockies Could Cover The Spread

The Colorado Rockies are coming off of a disappointing 2020 season. They finished fourth in the division and saw major regressions throughout the campaign. Colorado decided to hit the reset button as it shipped off their star third baseman Nolan Arenado in the offseason. The expectations are low as oddsmakers have the Rockies as the third least likely team to win the World Series in 2021. Despite the low expectations, Colorado will never fail to score runs in its launchpad of a ballpark.

The Rockies have been built around their offense for years and seem to have a similar ability to score runs in the young season. Colorado has scored 19 runs combined in its first three games to open the year and history shows that this isn't a fluke at Coors Field. The Rockies may actually have the advantage at the plate today with Bellinger and Seager set to miss the series finale. This will be a nice sight for Rockies starting pitcher Austin Gomber, who went 1-1 with a 1.86 ERA for the St. Louis Cardinals in 2020. He is in a nice spot as he expects to get offensive production from his club against a friendly foe in Julio Urias.

Final Dodgers-Rockies Prediction & Pick

The Los Angeles Dodgers are undoubtedly the best team in baseball and are my pick to win the World Series again in 2021. The disparity between these two teams is night and day in my eyes. More times than not, you will see me lean heavily towards the favorites here. I'm actually going to fade the Dodgers and side with Colorado against the spread in the opening series finale, though. Colorado has had great success against Urias in the past and LA's lineup won't be as impactful without two heart-of-the-order guys.

FINAL PICK: Colorado Rockies +1.5 (+118)
