New York Mets +1.5 (+100)

Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 (-120)

Over 8 runs (-125)

Under 8 runs (+105)

Why The Dodgers Could Cover The Spread

The Dodgers are 59-63 against the run line this season. However, as a home team, that number sees a slight bump, as they cover 50% of the time when playing at Dodgers Stadium.

Los Angeles plans to start Walker Buehler on the mound. The right-hander is 12-2 this season and has the best ERA in the MLB at 2.09. In his last time out, the two-time All-Star threw seven innings, surrendering just one earned run while giving up four hits.

The Dodgers have arguably the best lineup in baseball. They average 5.23 runs per game and are second in the league in RBIs with 613. They also generate a lot of power as they are fifth in the majors with 171 home runs.

Trea Turner has really found his rhythm since joining the Dodgers from the Nationals earlier this month. In his last 10 games with Los Angeles, he is batting .310 and has nine runs scored. In the first game against the Mets this series, Turner went 2-4 and had one RBI.

Why The Mets Could Cover The Spread

The Mets are 51-70 against the run line this season, which is third-worst in the MLB. They are just 1-6 against the run line in their last seven games.

New York plans to start Carlos Carrasco on the mound. The right-hander has only pitched in four games this season. His only decision was a loss against the Dodgers earlier this month, where he pitched two innings and gave up six earned runs. In his 11.1 innings of work this season, he has a 10.32 ERA.

The Mets offense has been subpar all season long. They are putting up just 3.78 runs per game and have a .235 batting average.

However, unlink many others in the league, a handful of New York players have hit well against Buehler. For instance, Smith is 3-6 against him, while Villar is 2-4. Pete Alonso has hit two home runs against the Buehler in his career.

Final Mets-Dodgers Prediction & Pick

It is hard to find any reason to pick against the Dodgers, given their current form. With Buehler on the mound and the Mets continuing to struggle offensively, the Dodgers should be able to take care of business without any issues.

That said, the Moneyline bet is way too juicy at -237. The Run line is a much better wager.

FINAL METS-DODGERS PREDICTION & PICK: Dodgers -1.5 (-120)
