Cody Bellinger's free agency is currently uncertain. The New York Yankees were initially the favorite to sign Bellinger in free agency. However, he was recently linked to the Seattle Mariners, and a report surfaced on Tuesday stating that the Mariners are rumored to be considering the star outfielder, per Jon Morosi of MLB Network.

In addition to the Mariners, Morosi mentioned the San Francisco Giants and Toronto Blue Jays as possible Bellinger suitors. Morosi was also asked about the Yankees' interest in Bellinger. He noted that New York still has interest but said Juan Soto is “more likely for New York than Bellinger.”

One has to imagine that the Yankees will become a more serious suitor for Bellinger if Soto ends up getting traded elsewhere or the San Diego Padres opt to keep him on the roster. For now, the Mariners, Giants, and Blue Jays appear to be in the driver's seat for Cody Bellinger.

Where will Cody Bellinger sign?

Bellinger is going to receive an impressive contract this offseason. The former NL MVP is only 28-years old and provides power to go along with defensive versatility.

Teams may be a bit hesitant since he struggled and dealt with injuries in 2021 and 2022. Signing him to a long-term deal would provide a decent amount of risk. However, teams will also recognize the upside of signing Cody Bellinger.

He features the potential to be a franchise superstar. The Los Angeles Dodgers probably considered building around him before his underwhelming 2021 and 2022 campaigns, which were impacted by the aforementioned injury concerns.

We will continue to monitor and provide updates on Bellinger's free agency as they are made available.
