Yankees, Brewers have inquired about Rockies’ Trevor Story

Yankees, Brewers, Trevor Story, Rockies, MLB trade deadline

Oh boy, the MLB trade deadline can’t come soon enough. After the San Diego Padres kicked things off on Sunday by acquiring Adam Frazier, the rumor mill has opened quicker than ever. There are a lot of names potentially on the move, and one name that is up in the air is Colorado Rockies star shortstop Trevor Story.

According to MLB Network insider Jon Heyman, a couple of teams have inquired about Story, with the New York Yankees even making an offer to acquire him.

The Yankees adding Story is a home run move, although it still might not be enough to put them over the top in the American League East. The Rockies dealt Nolan Arenado to the St. Louis Cardinals in the offseason and are headed towards a full-blown rebuild, even more so after seeing the success of the Padres, Los Angeles Dodgers, and surprisingly the San Francisco Giants.

The Yankees aren’t the only team to inquire about Story with the MLB trade deadline coming up.

Yes, the Milwaukee Brewers are the other team. They traded for Willy Adames, a move that has panned out well, and currently sit comfortably atop the NL Central.

The days and hours are ticking down until the MLB trade deadline, and who knows when the next blockbuster trade will happen. At this rate, it would be a shock for the Rockies to hold on to Trevor Story.
