With the Texas Rangers currently in last place in the American League West, they could be sellers on the July 31st MLB Trade Deadline. With that being said, it means Joey Gallo could potentially find himself in another jersey by the start of August. According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the New York Yankees are eyeing Gallo while the San Diego Padres are also said to be interested.

The Texas slugger is enjoying another solid season, cranking 24 homers at the break while hitting .239. While Gallo's strikeout numbers are concerning with 108 K's in just 84 games, he would undoubtedly be a valuable bat for both the Yankees and Padres.

New York is struggling to produce at the plate this season, ranking 16th in hits per game and 17th in team average at .236. The power numbers are relatively decent with 114 homers already, but another power bat in the Yankees lineup would be scary alongside the likes of Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge.

As for the Padres, they're already quite stacked offensively but San Diego is in the midst of an absolute dogfight in the NL West with the Dodgers and Giants. Any more help they can get at the dish would be worth it.

Gallo would be a free agent after next season, but with the direction the Rangers are heading in, it could make more sense for them to trade their star and get some assets in return. Whether it's the Yankees or Padres who potentially end up acquiring the power-hitting right fielder, they're getting a good one.
