The Atlanta Braves are back to looking like the defending world champions. They are firmly in Wild Card territory and are firmly above .500 thanks to a 13-game winning streak.

The Braves have gotten amazing contributions from almost every corner of the team. Ronald Acuña Jr. continues to astound, Dansby Swanson is hitting .370, Kenley Jansen has recorded six saves and the team has collectively smacked 32 homers during the streak.

According to Justin Toscano of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, the secret behind the winning streak is just great camaraderie. Catcher Travis d'Arnaud, who is hitting out of his mind (a 1.192 OPS) during this streak, said that the team eating breakfast together and being so tight-knit is the reason why they have been so dominant.

“It starts when you get out of the elevator and you see the guys and it’s just like jokes all the time, having a good time. We all get breakfast together. We’re such a tight-knit group and I think that’s why we’re winning so many games together.”

One disappointing incident that transpired during the Braves' winning streak was Ozzie Albies' injury. He fractured his foot and will be sidelined for a while. Atlanta will miss the contributions from their star second baseman. Still, with the amazing display of hitting that they are putting on, they should certainly be able to thrive while he recovers.

The Braves are within striking distance of the NL East-leading New York Mets. If they continue to dominate the opposition, they may find themselves back on top of the division.
