The Los Angeles Angels and New York Yankees are kicking off a series in Southern California and the Shohei Ohtani hype once again began to pick up some steam. However, that will have to wait after Shohei Ohtani was hit by a pitch over the weekend.
According to Scott Miller, Ohtani is out indefinitely and will miss his scheduled start against the Yankees.
So much for the Shohei Ohtani vs. #Yankees matchup tomorrow in Anaheim. #Angels mgr Joe Maddon says Ohtani's wrist is still sore after being hit by a pitch the other day and his next start has been postponed indefinitely

This doesn't exactly sound like a good sign for the Angels as Ohtani receives the indefinite tag. He was in clear pain after being hit by a pitch.

However, he can still hit, according to Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com. So, he could still be in the lineup against the Yankees but his next start has been pushed back for some time.
Shohei Ohtani won’t pitch tomorrow after being hit on his right hand by a pitch on Saturday. His next start is TBD but he can hit. Barria starts tomorrow.

The Angels are far out of a playoff spot so these games are purely for entertainment purposes, and the Yankees Angels matchup is one that had been circled for some time.
The Angels kick off the series on Monday night and it remains to be seen whether or not Ohtani will be in the starting lineup. More details to come as far as Ohtani's status is concerned, and they will have to wait for him to make another start on the mound.
