The MLB All-Star Game is almost here and players are packing their bags to head to Colorado to take part. On Sunday, Miami Marlins pitcher Pablo Lopez faced the Atlanta Braves– who themselves have some All-Stars. Lopez came in and got off to an unbelievable start, making MLB history in the process as the Marlins pitcher struck out the first NINE batters of the game, topping the record previously held by New York Mets star Jacob deGrom.

That is rather impressive and the Braves just could not hit Lopez to start the game off. For what it's worth, Lopez might have been a little more motivated after his last start was cut short to just one pitch after he got ejected– which was also against the Braves.

The previous record was held by deGrom, and anytime you break one of his records you have to feel good about yourself as a player. The Marlins right-hander was dialed in to kick the game off.

Lopez then ā€œdisappointedā€ in the fourth inning as he failed to record a strikeout, instead giving up a pair of runs to the Braves. Still, what in the world kind of zone must you be in to strike out the first nine batters you face in a game? The Marlins must be feeling pretty good about that start.

Unreal, and hats off to Lopez for the impressive feat.
