The New York Mets have been hit hard by injuries this season, including some key ones to Francisco Lindor and Jacob deGrom. But, according to Anthony DiComo of MLB.com, Lindor is being activated ahead of Tuesday's game against the San Francisco Giants.

This is terrific news for the Mets, who have been waiting to showcase their Lindor-Javy Baez duo since they acquired Baez at the trade deadline in a huge blockbuster with the Chicago Cubs. Now, just in time for a late-season playoff push, Lindor is making his return to the Mets lineup.

Lindor has been out since the middle of July. On the year, he is batting just .228 with 11 home runs and 36 RBIs, but perhaps he can provide a late spark for the Mets.

They currently sit 6.5 games back of the National League East lead, and they have struggled as of late, winning just two of their past 10 games. The Mets are also a full seven games back of the second Wild Card spot, and for a team that looked as if they were headed for the playoffs, they are in serious trouble now.

Hopefully, Lindor's return could propel this team to a series of wins down the stretch.
