The Seattle Mariners are hoping to make a push for the MLB postseason in 2022, and they're not wasting any time in strengthening the roster to achieve that goal. With top prospect Julio Rodriguez waiting in the wings to make his MLB debut, the Mariners are ready to make that dream a reality as soon as possible. On Monday, the M's revealed that Rodriguez has made their MLB Opening Day roster after an electric Spring Training. Clearly fired up about his new opportunity, J-Rod took to Twitter to share his excitement.
God’s timing is perfect!✨🙏🏽💙

Rodriguez was locked in all Spring and the Mariners rewarded him with a well-deserved spot on the Opening Day roster. He's ready to show the league why he's been touted as one of baseball's top prospects over the past few years, and at just 21 years of age, he's proven to be ready to handle the show.
Heading into the 2022 season, Rodriguez ranks as the No. 3 prospect in all of baseball, per MLB Pipeline. At 6-foot-3, 225 lbs, Mariners fans can expect an impeccable hitter and an above-average fielder in their newest star talent.
Last season in the minors, Rodriguez slashed .347/.441/.560 with 13 home runs, 47 RBI, and 21 stolen bases across both A+ ball and Double-A. He will be skipping Triple-A altogether with his jump to MLB.
Entering Spring Training, the Mariners informed Rodriguez that the opportunity to claim an MLB roster spot would be his for the taking, but he would need to do more than just earn it. He would need to blow them away. He did that and more with his Spring production. J-Rod went 13-for-31 at the plate in Spring Training, with 3 home runs and 8 RBI in 12 games.
