This year’s draft was one of the most anticipated in recent memory, especially with the deep pool of talent it had. Numerous players who declared for it had successful stints in the NCAA and overseas, and many believed it was an all-time great class.

The first-round selections wound up being what came to be expected while it was history was in the making. The draft had the most freshmen taken along with the least amount of seniors chosen in the first 30 picks in NBA Draft history.

While this further proves how talented the players of today are even at a younger age, it’s also concerning that they only spent a single season in college in order to comply with the NBA’s strict rule. Commissioner Adam Silver has recently spoken about potentially tweaking it in order for them to gain more experience and maturity before making the jump to the league. However, there has yet to be anything put in motion, and the “one-and-done” rule is still in full effect.

This coming season will be quite an interesting one as the league already features a number of players still in their teenage years. Their adjustment to the professional ranks is certainly something worth keeping an eye on along with what potential impact they’ll have once the campaign is in full swing.
