By the end of Wednesday, potential top 2020 NBA Draft pick Anthony Edwards will have found himself a new home with an NBA team. Though he hasn't played one single game in the league, that didn't stop the Georgia standout from taking a little jab at Portland Trail Blazers star Damian Lillard's rapping ability. An aspiring rapper himself, Edwards doesn't seemed to be too impressed by Dame's bars.

Via ESPN's Alex Scarborough:

He goes on to say that he's an aspiring rapper. He's already recorded a few tracks with his older brother Bubba. So, like Damian Lillard? “But I really can rap,” he says. “Dame, talking about — I don't know what he's talking about. I'm rapping like Lil Baby.” He says he won't release any songs until he's established in the NBA.

This comment was just one of several controversial ones made during this interview. Anthony Edwards' interview didn't go over well with a number of pundits, with many citing his supposed lack of love for basketball as a key component in his draft stock.

Edwards made a few confusing comments about his love for basketball, including this bit about how he'd rather play in the NFL:

“Because you can do anything on the field,” Edward stated as to his reasoning. “You can spike the ball. You can dance. You can do all type of disrespectful stuff.” In the NBA, he says, “you can't do any of that. You'll get fined.”

Anthony Edwards is still projected to be a top-three pick in this NBA Draft. It would be a surprise if he fell too far given the lack of star power in this draft, but there are certainly some legitimate concerns about his game and his mentality. While it's okay that he's not ridiculously intense about basketball, it's understandable why teams may have questions about his outlook.
