Iman Shumpert, currently a free agent after ten seasons in the NBA, is still spending his time these days in the spotlight…just a different type of spotlight. The always eccentric guard, who has played for five teams in his career, has now joined a much smaller team–a duo to be exact– as a cast member of ABC's Dancing With The Stars.

Shumpert has not only competed during this season, but he did something that he accomplished with LeBron James back in 2016 with the Cleveland Cavaliers…he won it all. After becoming the first NBA player to ever win the competition, Shumpert was asked if he still has a desire to play in the NBA and had this to say via Sam Chatman.

Shumpert is a native of Illinois and clearly still has room in his heart for his hometown Chicago Bulls. The interest may not be mutual, however, as the Bulls have a stacked guard rotation that currently includes Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, Alex Caruso, Lonzo Ball, Ayo Dosunmo, and Coby White. There are not many minutes to go around after all of those guys get theirs.

The Bulls are also 16-8, good for second place in the Eastern Conference, and might not want to interrupt their team chemistry with an in-season addition. Who knows, maybe an injury or two will open the door for Shumpert to end up playing for the Bulls. They are currently winning games by being one of the deepest squads in the NBA and would have an immediate hole to fill if an injury were to happen.
